Marketing doctors and medical professionals

Doctors have to market their services, just like everyone else.  There was a time when doctors did not advertise or promote their medical practices, but the world has changed.

There are many acceptable ways for doctors to promote their medical specializations.  One way is through the Internet.  Every doctor should have a website and consider maintaining a blog.

When we discuss marketing for doctors, that also includes medical professionals such as audiologists, physical therapists, clinical psychologists, optometrists, hearing specialists, and other practitioners skilled in the art of healing the body and mind.  Of course, these professionals should have credentials from accredited schools and universities and solid experience in their field.

Recently, we created a website and blog for a clinical psychologist who specializes in eating disorders.  Dr. Laura Hauben, Psy.D. wants to reach the local San Francisco community with questions about this condition.  In addition to her website and blog, Dr. Hauben makes presentations at schools and community centers to inform parents about the signs and symptoms of eating disorders.  To learn more about eating disorders, visit:

Other ways to inform people about medical services is through email newsletters, wellness fairs, and in-person visits to other providers to let them know about your services.  For example, a physical therapist can drop off literature and a business card to internists and orthopedic surgeons that make referrals to physical therapists.
